Lilith

Today’s young women are coming into adulthood with their rights at risk and in many cases with less rights than their parents held at the same age. This project explores the oppression of women in our society, by way of concealing their identity to symbolize the silencing, dehumanization, and marginalization they continue to endure. My goal is to show how women are often have been vilified, subjugated and rights they are at risk of losing. The images confront the viewer with the reality of how deeply ingrained patterns of oppression are in our culture. Additionally, it is an invitation to reflect on the ways in which we, as a society, can break these cycles to create equality and amplify the voices of women.

The women in my work, are not without power. Through this project, I hope to initiate a conversation about reclaiming women's voices and their rightful place as equal and active participants in all areas of life, unshackled from the weight of objectification and silence.
